CYC Fishing Club

just to get this off my chest, Last week when taking the boat out of the water cardiff yacht club were having there wiegh in, one of the members decided to put a decent sized bull huss into the water in the bay, saw it trying to swim but struggling to get down in the water, on launching the boat this week the fish was dead in the water. What is wrong with these people I don't have a problem with people taking fish for the table but this is just plain stupidity, fueling the antis who after seeing this i can understand why they have a problem.

any way thats my moan for the week.

KK

Re: CYC Fishing Club

NO mate your spot on -- thats why I will not match fish both fresh and saltwater -- just do not see the point of a fish suffering for a few points or a plastic trophy ( just my view )

If you going to eat it then kill it which is no problem or unhook it and smile

Re: CYC Fishing Club

our club do catch and release which i can cope with.
few months ago 1 new guy(who had been in different club) had no scales and brought 4 or 5 dead fish too weigh in. mate who was with me decided not too join club there and then(if it ad been my first night would heve agreed with him as well)

Re: CYC Fishing Club

I totally agree with everything people have said here and I share KK`s sentiments entirely. But having never fished a boat comp in my life , I dont really know the rules about keeping fish for the scales. How can anyone win if they dont weigh fish back at the base? Surely you cant weigh a fish on the boat and return it to the sea and expect everyone to take your word for its weight. That would be a recipe for cheating surely. Can someone explain how it works please. I`ve always wondered.

Thumbs down Re: CYC Fishing Club

What a TWAT !!!!!.........anyone with half an ounce of sense would realise the bay is 99.9 % fresh water .

From what i`ve seen all the piddly club competitions are mainly glorified fish murdering fiascos, sooner they are all made catch and release the better, but then you get the people who just have to cheat to win.I supose the only way is to insist on pics of the fish next to a standard scale before relesing them safely, but even thats open to abuse.....

That makes 2 of us havin a rant KK...........

Re: CYC Fishing Club

Total *ankers if you ask me - I genuinely hope that someone from the club reads this forum and realises just how many people think its totally wrong.

Cant we as a forum send a letter or make them aware of how unhappy a load of us are - we nearly all fish in that area and theres no point in killing a fish purely for the fun of it !!

Don't worry I will be making a formal complaint as they are always trying to badger me into joining them.
