| cod hunting cardiff 4/11/06 the report got the 8am lock, and left the barriage to be faced with brilliant sunshine and flat calm sea. got to mark and set up rods with fresh lug and crab baiit,(lug found at last minute) not long for first bite strap conger 5lb.then couple of doggies and conger about 12lb.at this point heard on radio someone caught 11lb 13oz cod and 8lb cod. (well done whoever you were)then things slowed up a bit untill slack water came, my mate neil had a rod bending bite on his sand eel rod and bugger me he had an 8.5lb cod. about this time a call went out from swansea coast guard about imformation had any body seen a red flair set off in the cardiff bay area only to be told a bit later that some idiot had set it off from shore. anyway back to fishing, over the next couple of hours had another couple of codling to 5lb.decided to call it a day at about 4pm,and thats when the fun started. first attempt at pulling the anchor failed miserably so had another try and another but it still held fast. finally got it off the bottom up to the buoy only for it to plumitt back to the sea bed. by this time had a right t**ful and cut the bloody rope. all in all a very enjoyable days fishing plugger  __________________ if at first you dont succeed buy a boat. peter     |
