| 2nd November Report Chaps, Me, my old man and Shads went out yesterday for our first ever boat session out of Penarth. Greeted with fantastic calm weather and blazing sun it was brilliant just to be out and away from work !! Fished just on the foreshore for the first trip rather than steam out miles away - first hour had no action except some fish knicking all my squid off my conger trace - coudnt catch the bugger ! Anyway moved out a little further towards the North Buoy and fished three hours there on the flood - wind against tide which livened the sea up. In all we had 13 dogs ( I had 7 and that was my lot ), two straps and Shads saved the day with a brilliant 8.5 pound cod - superb ! Thanks to KK and Plugger for general advice - know we have an idea of the area and especially the shelves etc. Im sure we will be out again soon - not this weekend which is a shame - looking really good out there for some good cod. Five boats in the lock on the way back - two others had 8 pound cod - one each and two boats had nothing. Very enjoyable day out although the gas ran out so we count make any coffee - Im sure Shads will put a picture up soon.
