| new quay , a wee dabble while on hols . during a weeks hols my son and i did a couple of short sessions fishing the breakwater at new quay, as there was no room in the car to carry any of my usual tackle along with the stacks of 'essentials ' that the wife needed to take, we cobbled together a couple of rods loaned by the father in law ,bought a couple of cheap reels and bits and peices. bait;- sandeel / fresh lug /razorfish. rigs ;- flowing traces . 1st session;- low water and early flood into darkness 5-8pm. caught sml whiting and pout continuously to all baits. 2nd session;- last of flood til low water 11am- about 5pm. started the same but as high water topped out bites stopped and the dolphins that had been circleing the bay came in real close, so spent the rest of the day watching them while half hartedly waiting for a bite(not from a dolphin  ).also checked out the beaches at ;- poppit sands, (looked good ,but didnt fish) aberaeron;- the large pebbles and mucho weed put me off so's didn't fish here either , might give it a go one day. aberystwyth;- looked real good but had no cash by this time so no fish  __________________ 2008, sessions..26, total blanks..3 species,..20 its easier for a man to destroy the light within himself than to defeat the darkness all around him.     |
