| cardiff today 29 /10 /06 woke up this morning to no wind,rain thought brilliant. loaded car with the days gear, bait foodand picked the rest of the crew up. the drive down to cardiff bay with the sun shining and me thinking it was at last a good day for it. little bit of a breeze in the marina as we got the boat ready for 9.30am lock out . spoke to kaptin kod on radio who seemed to be doing allright.dropped anchor about midway between cardiff mid and the rhannysnd baited up with frozen lug & crab, first bits brought a strap conger to the boat about 5or 6lb, further action with the dreaded doggies. by now wind had picked up considerably making it a bit unconfortable to fish.at this point andy (keana ) called us to ask how we were doing , he was anchored a little bit inshore from us with about the same results. with the wind getting worse and the anchor slipping decided to again call it a day when my mate neil getting a good knock on uptide rod which ended with a nice thornback 9.5 ib.called andy to say we were heading in, and he had just caught his first codling of the day.(well done andy) roll on the frosty mornings with no wind. plugger  __________________ if at first you dont succeed buy a boat. peter     |
