Kaptin Kod is on a distinguished road
friday night

Decided at last minute on Friday to put the boat out for a few hours while the wind settled, caught the 8:30 lock out to find the sea quite calm, a gentle south westerly breeze, so decided to head towards Penarth Pier. Dropped anchor and asked Pete to chuck me a squid, It's in the bag, wot bag. He only left it in the boot of his car at my house with all the other bait for the evening. After sweet talking his wife she picked it up and brought it down for us and through the lock at 10:00 we headed for the foreshore, no chance the wind swung the boat around in circles, line at the back off the boat then under it, Pete did manage a small eel, but I had given up by then anyway (more use making the tea), stayed out till the turn of the tide but things didn't get better and the thunder storm heading our way from Flatholm finally made our mind up and we gave in, Barrage was waiting for us I think as it was a green light before we radioed in.

Unlucky KK. A bit like rowing out to the trot only to find you`ve forgotten your boat keys.

Brilliant hol mate. No fishing. Watched this one guy fishing off the rocks. 18ft pole with some line tied to the top.....no guides, no reel....a float and tiny hook tied to the end. Catching tiny shoal fish. Dont know what they were, couldnt be bothered to ask either (even if he spoke my lingo).

Going fishing today with my lad. Its low tide though and i`m not sure where to go. Big tide, not much water. I`ll try Sully Island if its not too rough. Should be ok, light SE wind forecast. I`ll report tomorrow.
