Thanks for hanging back Peter. Its difficult to hear the radio over my 2 stroke. I thought about calling you up when I was at anchor but I couldnt remember the name of your boat etc. Hope to see you out there again soon. Hopefully up the sensible end of the channel where the cod lurk.

Keana and Plugger
You've both got boats a similar size to mine (Shetland 535 17' 8") and you both go from the Bay and fish out where I do. Lavernock can be a real bitch. I have learnt a few harsh lessons over the last few years about how bad it can quickly get in the estuary. I mostly fish on my own, all year round, and I will fish at night on the odd occasion. We need to look out for each other and I would like to get to know a few people from the Bay as I don't feel like I know anyone and it can get lonely out there when its rough. I have crossed the Ranie when there have been 5-6 ft standing waves and it is bloody scary. My tactic is to just go v slow - 3 - 4 knots I guess. I know the boat can handle it but know I would rather just avoid those conditions if I can. Do you fancy all meeting up and going fishing in our respective boats one weekend?
Ian
