Re: Bristol channel (advice)

Veals website have a forum where all the Bristol Channel anglers post catch reports, i'd have a look there for some good info, I have fished Ladye Bay but only in Winter for Cod, cracking mark might be worth giving Eddie a PM he knows the area well. Careful where you tuck up for a nights kip I have never seen a piece of water as awesome as the Bristol Channel, when it floods it floods!

Re: Bristol channel (advice)

Just had a read of Veals Forum and it would appear that the main thing the members do now is bitch at each other about the integrity of the catch reports, in general though it The Channel seems a bit hit and miss at the moment - mind you that could mean that a lot of the forum members are too busy catching to post? Still have a look at their web site though cos i've just seen a cracking link on the left hand side providing details of just about every bristol mark going.

Thumbs up Re: Bristol channel (advice)

Theres some good fishing on Sand Point & Brean Down WSM. Thornbacks, Bass, Sole & Codling. Travel light as it's quite a hike to the best marks & a lot of scrabbling over muddy rocks & climbing down cliffs. Interesting article in this months Sea Angler magazine about cod fishing at Aust just above the old Severn bridge too. Good luck.

Re: Bristol channel (advice)

the tide goes out a loooooooong way on springs m8,if you start fishing from l/w up be prepared to move frequently....backwards!,be vigilant about being cut off from behind the tides are 14 m high this w/end.
you could try burnham on sea, sandy beach, should throw up some strap conger if there are any about, good spot is around the concrete swimming pool area/ladye bay...rock's from 2 hrs b4 l/w back up....will have to climb back up the rocks and fish from there towards h/w.
olivers in clevedon had some excellent worms(blacks and yellow tails)he might be able to put you on some fish.
good luck m8
