| Friday night off Penarth locked out at 7:30pm Friday headed towards the foreshore to escape the rip of the tide, but not many places, so picked what looked the best, and rods over the side settled in not expecting much and wasn't proved wrong. picked up 2 doggies and my mate hit into something taking line in the run, decided to bring all rods in, and let all the anchor rope out to help him catch it up but noway was it giving up, decided best option to lift out the anchor and drift towards it, easier said than done back was killing me by the time I pulled the boat 200 ft in the tide, well managed to navigate towrds the fish, and sucessfully netted a 7.5lb Thorny hooked in the belly. after my arms came back to life we tried just off the pier hoping for some eels, only one strap but a lot of missed bites happening. that was it until we headed back in at 6:00 am knackered and wind swept. Looks like the change around time is coming as the last few sessions now have been poor, roll on 4 weeks when we should hopefully see the first of the Cod. KK |
