Question Rigs for Smoothhounds from the boat??

Hiya all,

going on the forum boat trip on sunday and was wondering what sort of rigs I would need to knock to take with me.

I believe we will be uptiding for the smuts and drifting for the bass.

Any help would be appreciated lads?

Simple end gear is best, plain running ledger, three foot trace of 40-50lb mono 4/0 hooks fished pennel,or single hook if usng crab.a link on the end of the trace to detach itis essential ,as the hounds usually go wild when they get in the boat.Follow the link to my site,a few pics of the tackle on there.

Cannot agree more with Mike....keep it simple and mind out for the Smoothounds when you get them into the boat

My pal got head butted twice by a 19lber in his small boat, year before last....first time I've ever seen anyone getting beaten up my a fish!!

Usually it's the fish that get battered!
