Great days mixed fishing, bit of a heavy swell, but who wants to stand up anyway !!!!............. .First fish of the day weas a 21lb Conger,after that more double figure eels,Small Eyed,Blonde and Thornback Rays,Bull Huss and of course an endless stream of Doggies......No smoothies around unfortunatly.

fishing the shore at barry dont want to say wareabouts cause the mark has been good to me this year i ended up with two thornies couple of congers useual dogs but lost two cracking fish close in

Is that thorney unusual in colour? Having never caught one I'd not know, but I've never seen one so black in photo's or on the telly.

We get quite a few darker Thornbacks,depending on where we fish,they seem to adapt their colour to the surroundings,the darker fish come from more mixed ground areas,the lighter and mid coloure come off coral/sandier patches .....
