| 31/3 Penarth Penarth inner harbour. High tide 9.30pm. Fished 3 hours up and an hour back. Had 2 rods out. One cast short ith a two hook flapper, size 1 hooks baited with rag tipped with squid. The other a pulley rig cast into the middle of the harbour with a whole squid, tiger prawn and rag wrapped up into a sausage in the hope of a lurking bass. First cast had a little knock on the flapper which came to nothing. Then as I was reeling in to check the bait so my other rod with the squid "sausage" started nodding. By the time i`d put the other rod down all had gone quiet again. And that was the end of it. Not one more bite for the whole session and bait coming in as it went out. Two blokes came over the ridge, who had been fishing the seaward side. Not one bite between them. They did leave me with some lovely black lug though which I have now gutted and frozen. ![]() __________________ Andy. ------------------- Treat each day as your last, one day you`ll be right. |
