18lb Cod ,Penarth ...Lady Helen...

Cracking night in the Bristol channel,no wind for a change !!....flat calm conditions and the Cod were feeding despite the huge amount of fresh water present in the channel..Best fish of the night and the current season was a stonkin 18lb fish, lightly coloured fresh inshore, it was quite thin, and would easily have broken the 20lb mark later in the season when fully conditioned

18 lb early season Cod

Some other Cod from the evening......

Well done Mike. A few more days of cold weather and hopefully they'll start coming inshore. Must get myself a new head torch and lamp ready for them!
