The freshwater makes a big difference, and theres been lots of it lately, can keep the fish offshore to a certain extent.Big tides usually flush the fish in on the flood, and a few have been showing over the weekend,so fingers crossed andweather permitting ,the Cod will show !!......

And if they don`t we`ll just have to go to the ale house and talk about why not ..!!!!

Have to say I agree with you there Skip - yesterday fished a local club match, and the forcast was strong gusty winds and heavy rain, so packed the waterproofs, spare rags for drying hands etc, BEACH BUDDY !!!!! - yep, you guessed it - watched the sun go down in fine, calm conditions to finish the match under a clear, starry sky, no wind, and the whiting tapping away!

A typical weather forcast (regional) up here - " strong winds, light but variable, possible rain with sun, snow possible on high ground, icy patches in places, fog clearing with mist on the coast, hail and thunder a possibility, with the wind picking up by morning giving way to a fine, warm sunny day, feeling colder by night" - did we miss anything there???????

Now thats keeping your options WIDE open, can't accuse my local tv station of getting the weather wrong....

Re: Cod South Wales

South/ south west 5-6,possibly gale force 8 at 5am this morning.....so cancelled and let down everyone, for the forecast winds to drop off to nothing after lunch.....It really P##S`S me off,Michael Fish and Co really need a size ten up the exhaust !!......

Funny your local forecast sounds like the one for this area !!!......

Re: Cod South Wales

Shame about that, for a moment I thought I'd imagined driving to work on a beautiful morning yesterday. I can understand them covering themselves after the 87 storms but they need to realise that people rely on accurate weather forecasting for their livelihoods. Hope you get to go out soon, supposed to be some nice weather coming in and hopefully it will cool down a bit as well to entice the cod in.
