Off Penarth Saturday

Well the weather was perfect on Saturday, locked out of Penarth at 8am fished just off Cardiff foreshore for a few hours, had a Ray of around 5lb, whiting, small eels. As the tide slackened we moved into faster flowing water, managed a couple of small codling, moved again to a mark further out where we were plagued by doggies so gave up there after an hour. Moved back in shore to the mark we started with just before low tide, my mate hooked into a nice plump 6lb 12oz Cod, as darkness fell I had one about 2-3lb (returned to fight another day). Lots of boats out and moving around searching for the fish seemed the order of the day. We did hear of one boat with 15 Cod to 8lb off Penarth so they are around even if a little difficult to find. locked back in for 8pm, knackered but pleased with the results.

Just praying for the weather to clear for next weeks Open Cod Competition.

Nice little session,we were out Friday night and had some decent Cod to 7 pounds there have been a few decent fish showing over the weekend too .Off digging some juicy king rag on thurs ready for the weekend.Weathers lookin good for the Cod comp.......good luck,catch a big un !!!..

Great to hear that you had a great day out of penarth

Seems to be the cod are starting to show up in better numbers which is great
