Bristol Channel - 26/27 Sept Right, missing my sea fishing too much, so I've had a think and as I've always wanted to fish the Channel, thought I'd give it a go. What I need to know is: Species (any early cod? Baits? Great marks? I'm willing to drive most places BTW Anyone else interested? I want to get fishing on the Monday, fish/camp the night and fish some of Tuesday then drive home. It'll be worth it I reckon! Rob

Re: Bristol Channel - 26/27 Sept Thats cool on the English side, I'm not fussed about fishing all states of the tide as I want to chill out for a bit and drink a couple of cold ones and rustle up some grub. I was thinking Portishead along to Minehead? Rob

Hi fellas, I will not be able to fish during the day but would be up for a night fish, tide dependent. For early Codling you can't go far wrong in two places that I have taken Richard before at Aust/Severn beach. Best tides are 12.5 metres and above up to 13.2 Best baits Rag/Squid and Lug /Squid or each bait on its own. If you are looking at Battery point or the brick house around Portishead....forget big tides, even 7ozs won't hold bottom at battery point in a big tide. Ladye Bay ledges can be fished at all states of the tide, but best in middle range tides. A good beach to fish would be Bossington near Porlock, easy access but a longish walk. Hope this helps.
