Thumbs up I've found my sea legs!

Last Sunday - 07 August I went out of Penarth on Lady Helen.
I want to thank the Charter Skipper - Mike, for inviting me on his boat.
On the day the skipper was Danny.
I want to thank everyone who advised me on how to fight my sea sickness.
I followed your advise guys, and I was OK the whole 8 hours despite of the quite choppy sea.
The weather was gorgeous but the fishing was a bit slow. I managed to catch a dogfish and a conger. I hocked into some kind of zoo creature that managed to brake 30lb braid on the knot with the 70lb leader. Must have been a big smoothy. The other guys managed to catch a few good size smoothies. The biggest - 14lb, came to Kevin's crab bait.
I was very happy and proud of myself that I managed to keep my breakfast in this time, and I'm buying an uptider rod!
Here there are some photos of the trip:

Danny took us out to West Abertough

The beautiful Welsh coast.

Soon the action started

I want to mention that Danny was an excellent skipper, very helpful, always there when you need him, and the tea was excellent too!
I am looking forward to my next boat trip.

Re: I've found my sea legs!

Glad you enjoyed your day ,it was a pleasure meeting you, hope to see you again soon .Hopefully we`ll get you hooked into and boat a smoothie next time.

The only advice i can give on uptiders is ABU Suveran Pro uptide 6-10oz,the most verstile rod available, you can now get a 3 piece model so you have a downtider and uptider all in one.Not the cheapest i know but certainly among the best.

Re: I've found my sea legs!

Great report vlad. Nice to see someone who gets such a kick out of catching . Used to throw up (apparently) on the Isle of Wight ferry. Look at the horizon and you're usually OK. Failing that I found SeeBands really good. Eat , rest and good levels of hydration also help. That's us lot stuffed then.
