Re: Llantwit Beach / Aberthaw Aberthaw, see previous advice that John had pm'd through. Never seen any reports for Llantwit beach but when I had a nose down there it looks like good bass ground with the flat rocky ground and gullies between high and low tide levels.

Re: Llantwit Beach / Aberthaw Pross, What does Llantwit look like - does it look safe to fish alone for a few hours and is it a beach mark / surf or rock mark ? I havent a clue but would like to give it a pop later. Cheers mate Tommy __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up !

Re: Llantwit Beach / Aberthaw I've only been there once myself but from memory it's a beach with car park and toilet facilities there may even be a little kiosk selling food and drink but I'm not sure. There are flat rocks exposed in front of the beach area at low tide. I think it should be safe to fish alone. I'm not sure what time you are going but there are likely to be families, dog walkers etc. there until evening. You may loose a bit of tackle there but if you get there at low tide there are some definite clean gullies amongst the rock in particular to the right as you look to sea from the car park where a stream enters the estuary. Let me know how you get on.

Re: Llantwit Beach / Aberthaw Llantwits a very pebbly beach at high water ,with sandy gullies extending down to the tide line. You can fish the breakers (heavy on tackle !!!),usually a few schoolies around.Fishing the mouth of the river where it joins the beach can produce a few nice flounders. Aberthaws best fro the bass tho, fish the hot water outlets either side of low water, its only a 9 metre tide tomoz,so wont be too much of the outfalls visable.Spinnings best with redgills, using a jiffy lemon or drilled golf ball for a casting weight ,followed with a redgill or shad on a longish trace. Good hunting....give us a wave as we pass you on the way back to Penarth tomoz.... ![]()
