Had a bit of rag left from last weekends fishing, and after a day crewing on a friends charterboat ,added a couple of pound of lugworm to the fridge too , so of fishing it was time to go. Fished the beach at Penarth tuesday evening/weds early hours , plenty of rattles from Whiting ,but only 1 beached as i was fishing large hooks and baits in search of Mr Cod .

Headed off to Cardiff Bay Barrage this afternoon to try for a pout or poor cod ,with a remote chance of a soul too. The dredger ARCO DART was just locking out and leaving ,so without that disturbance the chance of a few fish was looking good . First cast a triple shot of rockling and whiting , lots of bites all afternoon ,resulting in a couple of dozen whiting ,and a few 5 bearded rockling .

Still got a tump of worm ,so may have to sneek out tommorow afternoon ,depending on what the weathers doing

A tidy whiting was the only fish @ The Ranny , Thr noisey ARCO was justleaving the Barrage as i arrived

Flat calm sea despite the howling Westerly wind , triple shot on the first cast .

Some decent sized Whiting ,And 5 Bearded Rockling around
