mudfish hunting.......

after umm in arrghing i decided to have a go on sully island this evening after the ellusive mudfish - aka cod

weather was doing its normal think...yep blowing its brains out in the direction that i wanted to be fishing...argh well

only took one rod as i knew it wouldn't be easy...leads being stopped midair by the wind and very hard to get a bait 70 yards, never mind this mark is quite deep water...and rougher than a badgers backside so rottom bottoms were order of the day.

didn't have to wait long...whiting were hungry and got a couple in quick succession




then they started....some of them have even been practicing their cod bites...couple of nods and slackline.... i must have emptied the upper channel of them this evening...lost count after 12


in between making my own little doggie sanctuary ...for doggies with toothache i did have a better bite which stayed deep and up popped a good size codling, lifted out onto a rockshelf and the hook pulled and before i could get to the little mudfish a wave had lapped over and back in the briney for him.

also had one of these too which caused absolute pandomonium in my doggie sanctuary...never seen it before but dogfish do not like conger eels one little bit!!!!



hopefully normal service will resume next week when my report writer is free

Nice fishing John , hopefully the pesky work thing will be done by nxt week ,and i can get on with what life is for FISHING !!!!!!!!
