| A bit of early hours Ray action...... John and i got down to a well known local beach for a few hours ray hunting , forecast was a bit breezy with the wind coming up in the early hours ,so wasn`t ideal conditions , the tide was just about big enough to give us a small window to get some baits into ray central. Trudged off on the long walk to the beach ,managed not to get harrased by the ghost in the woods and arived on the beach with a fair surf running .Big squidly didly and sandeel baits and were in business. After a couple of the blank beating "Mumbles Marlin" the rays came on the feed just before low , we managed 5 in total ,4 small eyes and a cracking Blonde of 11 for John , as the tide started to flood ,the wind started comin on strong ,and the sky cleared ,it was wierd stood on a beach in the middle of nowhere ,headlamps off watching the rods in the bright moonlight . Some reasonable small eyeds and Johns cracking fish of the night an 11lb Blonde Ray ![]() __________________ Mike.. | Re: A bit of early hours Ray action...... Well done; really good session and brilliant photos too. I've never caught a ray but would imagine that if they lay themselves against the direction you are reeling - well, it must feel like you're hooked to a submarine! Kind regards. __________________ Kissin' don't last! Fishin' do. |
