monknash thursday night friday morning

Seeing as my report writer has done a runner (mike) i suppose i'll have to put something together for friday nights sessions with Spahill. You would of thought i'd have been able to just send him the pics and he'd cobble something together...but oh no.

tides were perfect for monknash and after mikes last trip on the big tides our hopes were up...

evening started with a strange man looking through the window of the car...no i wasn't out dogging it was Spahill...off we went through the haunted wood then a right turn across the boulders and then onto the sand...wish i didn't have a torn calf muscle!!!

anyway the fishing......who let the dogs out!!!!who who who whoo

unbelievable they were jumping on the baits as quick as fat lasses at an all you can eat buffet....every cast...knock knock knock...untill a little bit different bit and a decent bend in the rood ...soon we had the first ray on the beach to yours truly.

normal service resumed as doggies carried on

Paul and myself both ad bites together and landed a couple of non doggies...nice smalleyed for paul and one of the nastiest little congers i've had in ages...it did not like me...thankfully paul was on hand and picked it up like a french stick, stuck it under his arm and walked off with it...must be those dulcet westcountry tones!!







couple of casts later and paul was in with another non doggie of a couple of lb




we had to call an end to it at 3.00am as the tide was pushing in a bit quick ...and to be honest with a face like mine i need all the beauty sleep i can get....


didn't get much though...got to bed at 4.30 and back up at 8.30 thanks to a daughter who is as light on her feet as an african bull eliphant so i decided on another low water mark today,....didn't expect anything as it was bright sunshine and this mark reputably only fishes in the dark so thought i'd try it and see and get my bearings as its supposed to throw up quite a few "good" blondes....to say it looks rough is an understatement...not easy to fish but role on the next tides that are in dark...






hopefully mike will be back next week so you don't have to put up with my ramblings

Nice fishing Chaps , looks like i missed a good bash on the beach there , but was other wise engaged with big blue monsters of the deep.....

with the big tides i was out wandering again....got to try this place out on a small tide...tides under 10m should be able to stay on that lump of rock on the left and with a good old hoofing should be able to land a bait on the inside of that sand bar.

Twas a good night.
Went down the following night & caught even more dogs, all smaller.
Did manage this little fella to keep me happy

Dad & lads to my left had dogs & a pouting.
