After a good start to the week with John & Mike at Witches the weather detiorated but i managed to squeeze in some short sessions.

Tuesday I fished light in the surf with mudrag looking for flatties on the flood, but could only manage 10 bass (8 micro, 2 small).

Wednesday the wind was stonger and surf larger so I hid behind Jackstones.
Second chuck I had a good rattle and pulled in a little snotty.

Next chuck I got my flatty with an almost undectable bite.

I followed this up with another 5 small bass.


Thursday the wind was even stronger & surf bigger, not comfortable.
Boredom was setting in so I made a little video

Eventually I gave up, after landing a 4 oz grip weight

attached to cardboard
and moved into the river where I had never managed to catch before. As the tided flooded a sandbank covered so i dropped into the deeeper water just upstream & reactions took over when I automaticaly hit an unexpected pull and snared the blank saving tiddler.

Had a similar thing with a flattie the other day (in the first report of above post, it strecthes over 2 days)....
Kept thinking something was having a few looks at my bait, not quite to bite level, so the thoughts turned to crabs.
Eventually expecting to be stripped, I brought my line in for rebaiting, and found a nice little flattie on my hook.
