Cardiff Foreshore , Team Drunken Dragons on the fish !

Weather forecast wasnt too bad for the morning ,westerly winds increaseing and going Sw in the afternoon ,so John and i decided to get to the foreshore early ,get some fishing in before the weather turned , well luckily the weather man was off the ball again ,arrived and it was flat calm ,and stayed like it all day ,infact it was warm sunshine most of the day with the odd cloud.

The foreshore is a relatively easy place to fish and no the usual rock field we have been fishing all year , pretty clean ground is within casting distance

Cardiff Foreshore ,a nice mark to fish,although this part is out of bounds ,and you will get chucked off by security !!!

We set up and waited for the water to arrive ,as soon as there was a few inches of water ,we had baits in on scratching rigs ,hoping for a few species points , i had several bites and missed em !!!!! . John landed a "titchy" green eel for some much needed points , followed quickly by a Sole ,and a flounder . Looked like i was relegated to cameraman for the day.

First 3 fish to John , "Snotty Green Eel ,Sole & Flounder ...

The fishing went quiet for a bit ,about an hour down i had a blank saving bite on the longer range rod ,resulting in a dropped fish right at the edge of the rocks , two words were going thro my head at this stage "BLANKETY BLANK". rebaitred and back out into the run ,5 mins later another clonking bite resulted in a nice codling around a pound in weight ,and the smile back on my face . With the blank gone i decided to fish the scratching rod close in , for a sole ,that wasn`t to be ,but did hook and land a monster green eel of around 8 inches . With the water receecding rapidly we called it a day , all in all a pleasant few hours out in the sun,with a few fish to go with it.

A Codling late in the day saved a blank for me ,followed by a "titchy" Green Eel

Yep twas a enjoyable day ,a cracking season on the Cod coming this year me thinks
