An Atempt @ Mullet Fishing ............

Been busy working ,so haven`t managed to get out fishing for a couple of weeks ,so with big tides and 8.30pm high water decided to pop down to the Penarth inner basin ,and take the stress test that is mullet fishing , ground bait in and a few fish started making an apperance ,few tentative bites ,resulted in the usual infuriating clean hook and no hook ups .

Had a visitor after about half an hour ,called Sospan Dou ,the local dredger ...That was the end of the fishing .

Waited for him to leave and dump his cargo ,and settled down to fishing again, no more bites ,so called it a day when the Sospan returned , frittered 5 mins away videoing the Dredger ,fair do`s to the captain ,he certainly knows how to spin a large ship in a confined space while dredging at the same time .

Unlucky, I have never tried fishing for mullet. I hear they are hard to catch!

Just a bit atracting them with groundbait ,and getting them feeding is pretty easy ,they freely take the hook bait, they are expert in stripping it off and leaving you wondering " what do i need to do to hook one"

Slamming your hand in the fridge door is less stressfull........

Re: An Atempt @ Mullet Fishing ............

mullet fishing is great, on bread on mud rag an king rag an earth worm ive had them on. whrere i go fishing they are easily double figoures there, massive they are, ive only ever had up to 3lb, but seen bigger ones caught, i have been snappped by one that was abig one,, well i should say snappedtwice by either the same one or a i hit a shoal, as i two rods out, both on running ledger with king rag on, an it was 6,30 in the morning, one rod tip started twichin an it went right round so i knew i was in, an got it bout 5 metres an it snapped me on 15 pound line, then literally 30 seonds later my other rod did the same, an so i striekd an was in again, go it to pretty much same spot an snapped me again, i was well gutted, as if it same fish, or two diff , it was a tidy fish both times.
