3.5 hours in the sun

Went to the beach for 3.5 hours fishing up from low.
wind was brisker than expected and surf although smaller than last time was more powerfull & needed a 3oz gripper to hold. Most tedious as I don't like grip leads & the link swivels on my light rigs dont take the weights very well.
Started off with a 2oz knobbly doughnut, then a 3oz kd, then a 3oz plain I used succesfully the other night on a dog bash. eventually tried the gripper & immeditely pulled the legs out of the sand. The first hour was a disaster with wind blowing left to right, sweating in the chesties & I came close to chucking the toys out of the pram.

Then I had a nibble on the flapper, so I packed up the sleeper rod & put back on the light doughnut with the ghost rig & stood knee/middle deep in the surf.

Straight away into fish, flounder, schoolie, double shot of schoolie, flounder.
Then it went quiet for a bit, during which time I wore a large wave.
Just before home time, the fish came on again & I had some more flats & a schoolie on last put in.
End result flounder 5 bass 4 waves 1.

Nice one Mate. You got the wave I sent you then? Hopefully I can send you a few more for the Smutt meet...
