| June May be better May finished with 10 dogs in the first hour and dropped off as did the water. Due to a later shift I got to fish the tide up on the beach rather than to bottom from the arm. Happy days, driving through the rain to the beach & finding the wind is stronger than expected. The rain was only up the valley, the surf was plentifull & choppy rather than defined tables, probbaly because the wind was slightly from the right rather than dead head on. The first two hours of the flood were slow, then having missed a little rattle (forgot I had larger hooks on than usual) I switched 1 rod to a ghost rig & almost imediately had a result. ![]() This was followed by a decent schoolie on the larger hooks/baits, then a smaller schoolie, then another little flounder, both on the ghost. Then to end a hectic half hour I had a decent rattle on the larger hooked rod. Kept losing contact with the fish in the surf as it put up a decent scrap and the expected bass had a golden spot on its cheek. Result.... my 1st Golden grey of the year, shame he wouldn't stay still for the photo. ![]() Happy days - it's summertime. __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:> |
