Hard old week in the wind

Tuesday - popped down short arm in pm for a change - aiming for mini specoes in the howling wind with worm down the edge. Not a sausage (which I can identify) fish, even the crabs weren't nibbling. Had a few doggies on mates rod further out with Mack.

Wednesday - lots of worm leftover. Wind was as low as it would be all week so tootled of to witches. Fished worm, sandeel & squid in various combinations, had 1 little nibble but didn't connect. sandeel was being stripped to skeleton if left long enough. Two other fishing had some baby tope & a whit/codling, it was slow. Caught plenty of sun rays, shame floaty was required to keep wind off. Otherwise a very pleasant day.

Thursday - still got worm. Stood holding rod in raging surf for a few hours in chesties & floaty top in the shelter of Jackstones. Sheer bloody mindedness kept me going & managed to snaffle my best fish of the week. Only an 8 inch flounder, but I enjoyed it the most. Was exhausted after a few hours, it's suprising how tiring standing in surf is.

Friday - go shopping, do the garden, pray for rain (so gardening gets cancelled). Prepare for relaxing long weekend.

never mind paul,the fresh air will do you good,seen you brave the weather yesterday,i was the other idiot opposite you on the shortarm ; hate to say it but not even a bite.so unlike me as you know not to have a bowwow, only had 2hrs to spare so used up the rag left from my doggy sesh with you the other day.watched you trudge back up the beach yesterday to much hard work in that weather.
