Two days - different results

Monday saw me faced with a dropping tide & 20mph westerlies.
I decided to try a new venue rather than take the long walk down to Monknash. I headed a few miles further east to LLantwit Major and got to the beach without taking any wrong turns.

It looked just like it did on google maps, so after giving the tide another 30 mins to drop headed to the West to a ledge which appears to be affectionately known as "old farts". I think the ledges to the west are called "1", "2" and then you get to Stout point.

As Mike pointed out in his earlier post from Barry the weatherman got it wrong. The wind was a LOT stronger and howling straight down the beach. I set the single rod up low facing away down the beach and chucked out hoping to find sand. Result... only 1 set of tackle lost. Unfortunately I didn't get any bites & the baits came back untouched.
Considering how rough it was the sea wasn't really coloured up which I found suprising.

Here are some pictures of the scenery.

Tuesday saw me visit the short arm for a couple of hours to catch some more dogfish. I was nearly going to put a picture up of a dogfish.... It was touch and go on a new forum record, but only came in at 2.5 lb identical to Fishypauls, but not bigger. Will have to try harder.

Nice lookin bit of hound ground@Llantwit ....gotta be worth another try . You deserve the "Marlin" record after all the effort you`ve put in .....even if your gonna have to mug your species hunt partner to get it
