| As if I'd lost my touch..... After posting last night as a good tide a few weeks ago, it would have been rude not to give it a go. The wind was stronger than I would have liked and blowing straight down the beach from right to left. K & I arrived around a quarter to nine and walked through the sandstorm to the water’s edge. After tackling up, a 9.5 ft uptider for K & 2 x 15ft beachcasters for me we started the attack. K's went in & had a fish before I had a chance to get my second rod in. Only a doggie, but promised a busy night. I unhooked & returned, put in my second rod & brought in a woofer on the first rod. This set the pace for the night, K lost count after 4 I gave up counting after 1. Later after landing, releasing & putting back out I had a chance to wander the 10yds to K and her rod tip started twitching. A small eyed ray was landed. Small but it was what we had hoped for.  A little later amongst more doggies she had another & I thought I was overcasting them. Before I had a chance to re-distance I had a fish on my 1/0 & 4/0 pennel loaded with whole squid and sandeel rammed up it. OK it was a bit smaller than K's but it was the first small eye of the year   Another hour on after a few double shots of dogs it was time to go home. Last wind ins had a doggie for K, a doggie on my pennel & two doggies & a whiting on my 2 hook flapper. The fishies didn't stop all night & we didn't run out of bait, it was just bed time  .Tight lines all Paul (Catshark kid / Turbot king  ) __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:>     |
