Home or Away?

Had been looking for the right tide for a few weeks and it arrived on Wednesday. Plan was for me & mate Dave to head West to Pembrey for a flattie attack. Wind conditions not ideal but we headed off armed with maddies & some old lug.
Dave had been given a tip that a place by Llanelli was fishing well, so we changed plans & headed to what turned out to be the green banks.
BIG mistake, crabs were cleaning the hooks inside of 2 minutes and it was taking longer to pick the fine weed off the line than to bait up.
Dave struggled on whilst I accepted the blank & saved bait for the following morning. Result Blankety Blank chequebook & pen.

Thursday saw me using up the dead & dying maddies (probably cooked the day before) on Aberavon looking for the elusive flatfish. Dave put in a surprise appearance & fished with rag to my left.

Managed to scrape out 3 flounders (dropped a larger one in the surf) and a turbot that would sit in your palm.
Dave had had a little schoolie Bass and a cute baby smoothound by the time I left.

Home won on a technicality called fish.
