| The smoothound hunt begins ....... With reports of a few early hounds showing ,John and i headed off to a mark near Aberthaw to have a go,and see if we could sneek a few out . After a bit of a trek ,we got to where we needed to be and set up ,as the tide ebbed it revealed some cracking ground , weed and coral covered flat rock ledges, i joked that it look like ideal ground for Coding in the winter. Crab baits out on pulley rigs with rotten bottoms ,and we waited in anticipation, and waited and waited !!!!! No hounds showed up ,the blank was beaten with a Codling, that must have forgotten summers on its way . The place just shouts good fishing ,so we`ll be back to try on some differant sized tides to see what we can get. As the tide ebbed some cracking ground was revealed ,sand coral everywhere,mixed with weed ,full of crab,screams Bass and Smoothound ground...   Some of the local wildlife , droped in for a visit ,and a small Codling snaffled a huge crab bait to beat the blank...   __________________ Mike..
