| flats at Monknash I was expecting a 3 hour dabble on the short arm this morning but our "Captain of Industry" had pulled a suprised double stint. After quick persuasion from Mr Cameron I permitted this for the sake of the country & went back home to get some propper tackle. Target was now Monknash 4ish down and a couple back. From all the recent reports I was expecting a quiet day & so it turned out. As I pushed further down the beach chasing the water I lost the cover from the cliffs & felt the full force of the wind which more than made up for the bright sunshine. Around low water I spotted a good tug on my f/s rod and brought in this little fellow. ![]() He went 53 oz on the scales bso 3lb 5 he is. I'm guessing a small blonde. Funny looking photo as I had the camera on timer & had to squat to get in the frame. heres another shot without the ugly one. ![]() Quite a bit later with the tide pushing me back I had another turbot to go with last weeks. A bit thicker & heavier (15 oz) this one though a similar length. Notice the large bulge in his belly - he took half a side of mackeral wrapped with elastic for rays. Three fifteen arived all to quick and it was time to walk back to the car to fetch K from work. __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:> |
