Thank dog for February January ended with a blank on Monday, 3 down 1 up on the Neath river. Cold & a gentle Northerly wind flattening the surf I didn't fancy the beach. February saw the return of the prevailing winds & some rain to start with. I popped down into a bit of cover on the short arm and first chuck had a rattle. What a month, straight into a fish & my biggest flattie of the year to date. ![]() OK still small but I am catching K up. Next in was a rockling, then it went quiet for the middle of the session with only 3 crabs. An hour before the end of the session and another rockling came out to play. Last cast saw a smaller Rockling & as the sun was coming out & the tide was on the change I fancied a few more hours, but "She who must be obeyed" was waiting so I tootled off... 4 fish in 3 hours - it can't be January anymore ![]() Day off today, am expecting delivery of some mackeral to fill up the freezer with doggie food. A few bits & bobs of tackle for my future conger trips. Have ordered a set of electronic scales for £6, doubt if you get much for that price, but is it worth paying 30? Will have to weigh my weights & tins of food, bags of flour, before moving on to whippets ![]() ![]() __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:>

Re: Thank dog for February Well you had a far better start to February than I did Spahill. I am giving the beach a miss for a few weeks, so I decided on a quick trip to the Frome at Wool for a Grayling. All I had were 2 small dropped fish. Well done. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk

Re: Thank dog for February All bits have now arrived. Scales came 1st class post, work, are easy to use & I will judge the quality after a few months..... or longer of I can't catch anything worth weighing .Bait arrived at luchtime, this is our only feezer. ![]() can you spot the secret bait Comparison between the fantastic service from "Baits Direct" (shameless plug) and another "online" firm. 2 packets of seafreeze (-1 fillet) against 1 pack from "Baits Direct". ![]() Hence no room for Bread or choc ices in the freezer. Methinks I am going to be SENT fishing quite often this month. __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:>
