| ogmore deeps recce took the opportunity on saturday to take the wife and daughter for a walk along the coast at low tide.......ok i wanted to recce the ogmore deeps. this is a notorious spot in south wales...dangerous for swells coming straight over the ledge!!!!! can be fished on anything below a 12.5m cardiff scale tide (arrowsmiths height) but with the proviso that if a swell is running to reduce that tide height...and if its south westerly.....DON'T BOTHER some of the ledges with clean ground. The water comes right upto the top of the ledges the guys in red are standing on...and over it at times!!  get your spot wrong and your fishing into coral covered granite pothols...oh enjoy!!    is it worth the risks??? yes especially when you keep an eye on weather, tides and swell to reduce the risk...plus it throws up plenty of double figure small eyeds and blonde rays...good size spotties and a fair amount of hounds john __________________ 2012 targets - 180 yard measured cast, 10lb bull huss, 12lb blonde, 10lb hound, 8lb small eyed, spotted ray any size     |

A few interesting spots to explore , emphasises the importance of local knowledge on where to fish ,theres a few tackle graveyards waiting to get you at the deeps by the look of it . __________________ Mike..
