Oxwich Beach ....Forum mini meet !....

John and i headed off to Oxwich beach this afternoon ,in search of a few different species ,was cold and frost on the ground when we arrived at 4 pm.We were joined shortly afterwards by Paul and K (Mr & Mrs Spahill),and Steve (Stevey916) , So a bit of a S.Wales mini meet was on !.Nice to meet Pauls better half and Steve ,hopefully the first of many meets ....

Oxwich Beach to the left looking towards Slade ,and to the right "Chapel Rocks ".



Big tides meant the tide was gonna race up the beach, scratching rigs with worm baits soon snaffled by hungry flounders , John winkled out a small Coalfish second cast ,plenty of flounders uptill high water when it went quiet for a bit ,a few more flounders and a couple of whiting finished off the evening . John left his golf clubs in the car today and caught somefish ...





It was extremly cold ,the sand was frozen solid and even our flotation suits had frost on them ,by 8.30 it was time to leave or freeze to the spot !!!

You are certainly putting the hours in MRG2000 and it is paying off.
I have never seen frost so bad that it freezes on your clothing, that's determination.

Arrived slightly later than planned owing to early rush hour & following road signs rather than the route I've used before.
Setup the rods to the left of Steve, John & Mike, whilst K went back to the car for my forgotten hat.

Fishing was slow, I didn't get a bite untill after high tide. K 5ft away was getting the odd nibble, one of which resulted in this.

K had a postage stamp flattie beore high.
I switched to a rig with beads and soon after snaffled a very small schoolie, as the tide dropped back K picked up another flattie & a little schoolie. On last knockings I had a flounder.

Good to meet you at last Steve, looking forward to the next adventure, It should be a bit warmer.
Left over bait going to be used Sunday night.

First outing of the year and a very enjoyable one. After reading the threads you guys have posted it was good to meet you all at last!
Fishing was a little slow, weather errr, cold!!!! (need to get some good boots!!!) Managed a small coalie, and lost a smallish flattie as it came out of the surf. Looking forward to the next time! Thanks guys

my feet have just about thawed out!!!!

good to have some nice clean ground and a different type of fishing..think there must have been over a dozen flounder land so quite a good evening
