| Hunting the elusive Pout Special rig has just been tied. Tomorrow I'm going to hit a top secret special pout mark to fish the ebb. Hope I don't snag a doggie, although I need one, I'm definately not targeting them tomorrow. Will I get one.... tune in tomorrow, same place, same time for the next gripping installment! | Re: Hunting the elusive Pout Here goes Knocks from the off but didn't connect with the first two or three. Water level was dropping rapidly when I hooked this....  I've been calling them whiting for ages but... could it be a small pollack? No kelp around to give it the darker bronzed colouration, but the lower lip does jut out beyond the upper. Think I will call it a Polling or a Whitock and get a new bait board (white plastic) and take more pictures. Bites really dried up after this fish, I dropped an absolute tiddler on the surface an hour later and left around low water. Not happy with the rig - will go back to longer & fewer snoods.
