| "The Ranny " 14 Jan 2011... Fished an area of Penarth beach called "the Ranny".....some bigger codling have been reported, so still had good bait left from last weekends boat trip,so headed off to fish the last hour of the flood and a few hours of the ebb.Howling SW wind ,which luckily blows offshore at Penarth,so the sea was flat ,and a bonus of no rain.... Ranny back towards Penarth ,and to Lavernock point to the right   No bites for the first hour ,then around high water rattles started,and a few Cod fishfingers started knobbling the worm baits ,plus a "baby Bass".   John arrived around 2.30 to give his new Slosh 20 a good road test , had a good bite at close range ,resulting in a double shot of codling ,no more fish after that ,maybe because we were talking and i wasnt rod tip watching !   Pleasant couple of hours , a few fish, and some points for the species hunt ....  __________________ Mike..
