| Bristol Channel Cod ...Jan 09 2011.... Ventured out into the Bristol Channnel this morning aboard Whitewater ,in search of the elusive cod.Was joined by Paul (Spahill) John (lazyhooker) ,and several other friends who aren`t forum members . Locked out @7 am and headed for the English and welsh grounds ,which is basically a huge area of sand banks which splits the bristol channel as it narrows towards the Severn bridges Bridges.TAckle used ,normal uptide gear ,8 oz gemini`s pennel rigs with BIG lug ,rag and squid coctail baits . We were greated by a cracking sunrise ,and flat sea conditions....Paul was relaxin @7.30 am   a steady stream off codling ,ranging from tiddlers upto around 3 lb ,were caught during the day ,although it did get a bit quiet on bites at the end of the day , all in all ,a very enjoyable day out in the channel.       Passed Cardiff Docks new multi million pound dredger on the way home ,to be greated by a cracking sunset ......   Didn`t keep count ,but around 40-50 fish boated thro the day ........ __________________ Mike..
