| Long time no post Been a month since the last update. A long cold month, or maybe a warm one at the start, but it's been a loooong month & it's cold now.  Have carried on fishing in short patches at the usual locations, mainly from 09:00 to 12:00. The beach is barren and the pier not much better. Have tried for conger and cod and now torn the letter C from the dictionary. Catsharks are possible but they begin with "D". Whiting are on the menu & the odd flounder appears. Last week I had an 8 hour gap between taxi runs & with a strong N Easterly I decided to Visit Ogmore (30 mins East). Arrived at the top of the tide and missed a bite on first put in. Second chuck was a decent whiting - a pb but not weighed.  That was it for bites & as everyone else had left so did I. Today I revisited the Short arm & after a few fish before the tide dropped 2 of the usual suspects  I must have fishy fingers  realised there are other ways of getting cold  and some of getting very cold  Also my feathered friends were helping themselves to bait within a few feet of me. | Re: Long time no post Cheers John Have hardly seen or heard of any rays come of the shorty, warm or cold. I've had 2 but they were only dinner plate size. Have put out plenty of sandeel & squid baits for them. Expect I will nab a few in the spring - I didn't get the permit till September time. Lots of rumours of C od in the area but I've never met anyone who has had one.
