P Talbot over the Autumn Equinox

Monday - 4 hours on a dropping tide & only 3 frozen crab & 5lb of squiddly diddly. Lets go digging!!! Went off to Swansea & spent a couple of hours turning sand over. Why do most of the silly worms live at 1 1/2 fork depths. Being an experienced digger NOT I managed to get enough for 3 single rod sessions .

Tuesday - Short arm 4 hours down to bottom of tide. Rattles from the off, turned out to pin whiting. the winter blank savers are here already. Moved 50 yards and found a quiete patch & after 20 mins had a nice doggie - that was it for the sesion.

Wednesday - Beach 4 hours up from low. Twice went to the kitchen to prepare squid strips in the morning & twice did something else. remebered in car on the way down... oh well worm only. Halfway down the beach decided there was something small and mobile in the left foot of my chest waders... bother ignore it. Setting up I discovered I had brought a "Plaice trace" instead of the 3 "very light" traces I wanted, luckily I had a flattie trace in the other tin.... must label/colour code these baccy tins.

Things improved from here. I didn't fall over when getting the ball of fluff out of the chest wader whilst hopping around on my left foot. I managed to catch a couple of schoolies. The rain held off till almost the end of the session.

Thursday - 4 over the top into dusk, we shall see

Nice to get out Paul, beats sitting in front of the box! I've not managed a schoolie for a while now. Keep trying for the big one!

Re: P Talbot over the Autumn Equinox

Fished 4 hours to top of tide Thu & Fri evenings. A few scoolies on thu a mixture of flats & schoolies on Fri, including my first dab - i thought it would be a good night as camera was sat on kitchen table.
Bottom of tide fishing well for small ray & even saw a sole when I arrived on beach.
Rumours of those cod thingies showing in the bay.
May step the rods up to put a big bait a distance next week.
