| short arm :+) Weather was gorgeous - easterly wind... go hide from it. Popped down short arm for a few hours from the top of the tide. Still don't know what I am doing there but had a great time in the sun. Travelled light with just 1 pier rod & hid down in rocks from the wind. popped out some baited feathers and had a bite before I put the rod down. a double shot of pout came up after a brief snag up  Lesson 1 - chuck a bit further. Blank beaten I switched to a pulley penel 6/0 & 2/0 and a large chunk of mackeral. Barely had the rod down & nod nod nod a larger pout. A quick prayer to the fishing god, no more bait robbers please. Next four put ins had a few knocks on the rst of the mack without connecting. Thick baits were being ignored longer thiner were getting knocks or stripped, possibly a lesson here. took some photos as was enjoying it so much Looking north  Looking south  Chucked out the mack head & bits, minus backbone. Had a few knocks that didn't develop. Only 40 mins left to fish so tried a whole squid. A few nodds then a good rattle & a nice Swansea Salmon came in - haven't seen one as big as this for a long time.  Phone went whilst getting the camera, rarely get a call so thought it must be important, blooming junk mail from a firm that sells phones for cars from a whorehouse. Do your bit for peace & quiet & never use that firm again!! 20 mins left so fired out another squid nod nod rattle rattle conection - not very big, but well chuffed with the result.  1st thought tope, 2nd thought smoothound (can't be... all of cuckoo's are 10lb bigger at least). | Re: short arm :+) Well done mate. Looks like a smoothie to me, but then I've never even seen a tope in the fleash so couldn't say for sure.... | Re: short arm :+) Lovely fish mate. When i seen your thread title i was thinking you were about to tell a joke about a girl who has a short arm, who also has a sister with a short leg and she's called eileen. the mother has 2 normal length legs and she's called noleen. |
