| Llangenith briefly monday then short arm today. Catching up on the exploits & lack of skill of the great Spahill. Monday saw K & I pop off to the end of the Gower to take advantage of the forecast best day of the week. Arrived & headed left away from the surfers to find a quiet patch of beach. Just as we put in another hoard (or whatever the collective noun is for surfers ) decended from the Dunes with pops shouting " not there further right" to keep them away from us .We shifted another 50 yds anyway as it was getting busier. Tide was already on the way out but I gave it a couple of hours knee deep in the surf, freezing my b(t)its off in a Tshirt. K was sat on a chair above waterline as it receeded doging the intertidal ramblers. To cut a long story short - no fishes no bites some sun tan added whilst warming up .Tuesday - after dropping K off at work I headed to the "Short arm" accesed via the corus steel works. The sheer size of the buildings & signs like "power plants A & C "beggars belief. the drive through there reminded me of "robocop" & other films of that type - right down to the steam coming out of the pipes as they enter the ground. It rained for the first 3 hours & I hadn't taken waterproof trousers as the forecasters said it would be dry(ish) till midday .Fished nearly 4 hours to the top of the tide, nothing on ledgered baits (rag/squid/prawn) were getting stripped by crabs with minuture chainsaws. On the float down the wall I faired better with a few Gobies ![]() and a reasonable little schoolie. 2 others hadn't caught by the time I left & another 2 were just starting - hope you faired better if you read this chaps. Back again tomorrow... good fun learning new venues, just need enough knowledge not to lose too much kit to hidden rocks. __________________ Spahill <:--- --- --- --- It was this big --- --- --- ---:> |
