Secret mark number 1 twice (Aberavon)

Having had a visit to the Gower with MRG & LH on Friday evening called off (Weed & Waves), just after I had dug & collected bait, I was going fishing on the Saturday regardless.
With K putting in 4 hours hard graft I was able to grab a few hours towards the top of the tide. After the dropping K off I made the arduous 1km drive to the seafront. With other anglers already on the beach and a good surf running I was hopeful. Unfortunately the choice of rods & reels left a little to be desired, but I persevered with my optimistic light tackle and proceeded to catch naff all.
Here is the view – wind blowing/gusting from right to left.

Undeterred I decided to return in the evening to fish the next high.
Baits were the same (rag, maddies, crab) rod/reel slightly beefed up. The conditions were similar to this morning, wind had swung round 90 degrees to be hard in the face, which made it wetter when waves slapped on the steps. Needed 6oz weights to punch out any distance & hold in the maelstrom so bite detection was hard.
Still it blew the cobwebs away... and I was rewarded with this.


Come back summer all is forgiven.

well done on getting out,and that eel saved you from the dreaded blank,havent fished there for yrs,used to be a good spot for rays.
