| Pwll Du Fished Pwll Du from low to an hour after high. Sorry no photos - they are stuck on a 8mb canon flashcard as favourite camera is not working after a good wash in salty water. I'll do a quick description. horseshoe shaped bay with rocks & gulleys either side sandy & shallow at low with a patch of pebbles getting steeper to a pebble bank at high deeper water from rocks on the west shore. Only reachable by walking a good mile & half unless you own 1 of the 2 houses in cove & have a 4x4. So it's reasonably quite - most of users probably come by boat during the summer. I setup both rods chucked them out with worm then went hunting crabs. Found first crab under 1st bit of weed, then called back to unhook 1st fish. Schoolie. Went off hunting crabs in pools again, after 1/2 doz decided didn't need anymore. went back to K & rods & chucked them out again. K then caught a little flounder, then a little turbot. Had a break for lunch (french stick, grated cheese & coleslaw). plodded across beach as tide was pushing us up towards sunbathers & had a chuck from rocks on west. Tide pushed us off these so we slotted in in middle of beach & watched the flotilla of boats descend from Swansea (I popped of to try the gullies with floatfished crab for an hour) had left it a little late as they had filled up a bit much. No further bites, baits untouched, so it was back home to catch the soaps. Ho Ho Ho England were playing Mexico so missed Corrie. | Re: Pwll Du Hi Spahill, I know the area well. having walked from Carltons Hair design down and around the bays for the past few years. Glad you cought. I have never had any luck there, but thats not unusual for me. Next time you are out that way call into the hairdressers and ask for Julie nand tell her mackerel mal said that you make great coffee. The shop is family run and J is my missus. Its nice to know there is fish in the bay. |
