| clarach bay hi all i am an old geyser who recently started fishing and must have the uk record for blanking <every trip>.have tried every bait rods and rigs without succes .can anyone tell me if clarach bay is any good or suggest any other marks <my wife suggested i try handgrenades but my tackle shop doesnt stock them>i would be gratefull for any advice that will catch me a FISH .any type or size of FISH ,something to stop the sniping ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Re: clarach bay I am heading up there at the end of the month and from what i can gather live prawn (caught from the rock pools there) fished from under a float over the rocks on the right hand side as you look out to sea works extremely well. I will be trying all angles spinning/plugging,floating and just beach casting will post results and pics if i get anything that is lol. ![]() |

| Re: clarach bay clarach bay is round the corner from my fav beach ,,fish close in for dabs on maddies odd turbot around best baits are rag squid and makrel we have odd ray in november on makrel whiting shud be well in now might be a few schoolies ,dont chuck to the horizon as cardigan bay is shallow beach country no point 3rd breaker riffle should do you ,i find it fishes from low ebb to high tide high is mainly dog fishing time lol ,thats just my oppinion there is a good tackle shop in abber will put you straight and he sells fresh bait never tried lugs down there but i hear they work ,and yep a live shrimp works thats how we fish for the bass in borth off the rocks good luck,,,,oh long trace for the rays i use single clipped up or running leads for anything else nd if you dont catch abber break water fishes good |

| Re: clarach bay Huw pgh has got it bang on mate just reading alan yates report the other day the big shore caught fish of 10 years ago ain there in such big numbers any more. Down size your tackle and bait and you will start catching they may not be fish for the pot but at least your catching fish mate as you get more into it you will getmore clued up as to what bait catches well and where !!!!! |

| Re: clarach bay cerio pleanty of dabs like i said we fish close in up that way no poit blasting a bait its a shallow beach we fish less than 3rd breaker ,,if you go on wsf site look for a bloke called john mason he was welsh shore champ he will tell you the same he fishes all those places and is amazing with info im nt a wsf member i met him on a beach in north wales he will teach you loads |
