Phil the Float is on a distinguished road
Red face Mumbles pier, Swansea today

After a c==p start, weather wise, between four of us:

Myself, Slimness, Deputy Dog and Old Smoothy

We managed to catch about 100 fish.

Whiting <-- most of them a decent size and chunky
Pollack <-- again of a decent size and one was caught on the float
Dabs <-- some were small and yep, some were a decent size
Swansea bay spotted trout <-- Most of them in excess of 2lb with the odd small one

There were also a few decent size whiting being caught along with some small(ish) pouting.

All in all a bloody good session!

Sounds a very fun session. What bait were you using?

Well done

Ragworm, Mackerel, baby squid and sandeel.

The dabs came mainlt to the baby squid.

The pollack (on the float) came to ragworm

and the rest came to a mixture of all of em

It was great fun, took the whatsit out of each other, the banter was first class. I am glad that we all knew each other!

It was, but brilliant fun. And, I had a compliment in that one of the other guys fishing with us said "it is nice to see someone with the confidence to float fish in the Winter" That I have and if it can pull an extra fish out then I am there with my trusty Pike Dead Bait sliding float with a 1 oz weight to send it down to the beasties!

I am not afraid to try something new(ish) or not the norm by using a float in the winter!
