| Re: wooltack point pembroke help Johny i dont know area but all the advice and good advice i can give you mate is go and fish it yourselves at this time of year at night then fish it during the day, now if you draw a blank fish it in april/may daytime for plaice and best months were i live for the night is end of august-november. Wee tip mate fish 2 rods each, one rod in and one rod out ,that way you will know were the fish are, and another tip is if the right hand side of the beach is not fishing well go try the left hand side and if that doesnt work fish the middle and finaly if that fails its a crap beach mate. If anyone on forum knows area saves you the time if not follow my advice and you will hit the fish if they are there. Tight lines mate. Paul |

| Re: wooltack point pembroke help Firstly Wooltack is not a beach, to add to your bait I would add some cuttle fish, fishing day can be a bit slower than night but as you haven't been there before I would fish during daylight. wind will be slightly the wrong direction but not a killer to the fishing or you. Fishing may be a bit slow at this time of year but along with the eels that can be hit or miss at this time of year you should be able to get Bullhuss mainly on the squid bait (Unwashed is better) personally I would fish two rods one short say 20 yards and one as far as you can, you may pick up some bass if there is a bit of coulour in the water. I hope you are not affraid of heights and can move like a mountain goat and good luck at wooltack eels to 45lb+ do come from there but it aint regular. your best time fishing could be around 0.5 hours either side of slack. Wooltack is a very rough area and you may require rotten bottoms but that desision is yours as you may be hitting a nice little patch of clean ground, if you blank now keep trying it as it does produce, you ain't going to get plaice there, pollack and wrasse are a good possibility but I have never tried it in winter for them. |
