ok firstly went fishing today at a local mark
nice warm sunshine no wind it was lovely
AND finally caught my first shore plaice of the season it only weighed about 6 oz!!!!!! lol but it was a plaice
tried a float for the macky didnt get nothing then whilst watching the rod tips i noticed a large splash!! it was not 1,2,3,4 but i estimate 30-40 dolphins!!!!!! leaping everywhere couldnt zoom in enough on my phone to get a good picture but it was still a nice sight to watch.

and 2nd

i have heard about big mullet in wales does anybody on here live in one of these area's that could give me a idea on where to go to catch them?
a tourist was telling me to fish the creeks in neath? and said that many double figure!!!! mullet come from these creeks each year
i would love to get in on that action

Oh i bet that was some sight mate, i have seen a couple of Dolphins at Swanage around the rocky marks but thats it.
Pretty much kill the fishing though i would of thought.
Mullet... i dont fish down your way but yeah creeks sound about youre best bet any brackish backwaters would be a good bet.
I have always fancied giving Rhossili Bay a go for the Golden Grey mullet with a quiver tip rod and light gear stood in the surf they reckon it is great.

lol not famous im still waiting for it to be ratified i keep emailing them to find out what the heck is going on.
i got a email back the other day saying they were still waiting for scientists to say it was a golden grey mullet (im certain of what it is)
so no doubt in my mind.
but my problem is they havent even seen the fish they only have photo's how can one say what species of fish it is if they havent run tests on the actual fish.
they can only say oh yeah it looks like one.
what about hybrids and stuff?
i have done research on it and golden greys and the normal grey's mate and spawn at 2 complete diff times of the year so im guessing it aint possible but it only takes 1 of each to get randy a little early or a little late and walla you have a hybrid
