Oxwich Bay ,in search of the elusive Smoothounds !!!!!!

John (Lazyhooker ) and i braved the weather forecast and decided to head of to the gower ,to have a crack at either bass or smoothounds, where we were going to fish depended on the weather really, and as it had been tipping down all day ,looked like we might be in for a good soaking !! But the crab was ordered ,and the water proof`s packed......We set off at 4 pm ,just after the rain eased off,and headed down to the gower ....much to uor suprise the sun came out and mid winter turned in to a cracking summer evening in the space of the hours journey. So we decided to take a chance on a few early season smoothounds, and headed to Oxwich

Oxwich Bay, at low water .......

Bait for the session was peeler and fresh dug "monster" lugworm ,fished from a rock platform ,in to the semi rough....The water quality was amazing ,absolutly gin clear ...

With absolutly no wind ,flat clear conditions ,we were expectinfg a good sesseion ,to add to the joy of the gower ,the pub is only a 2 min walk along the lane ,so we thought it would be rude not to help his business as we were there ....

John exhibited his balancing skills with his hands full on the way back down to the ledges !!!

Not a bite all night !!......so at midnight we decided to call it a night ,all in all a pleasant evening fishing (or should that be at the pub with a fishing rod !!!!)
